The EBRD provides JSCB "Universalbank" with another loan to support small businesses and private entrepreneurship
JSCB "Universalbank" announces it has secured another loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) aimed at expanding access to financing for small businesses and private entrepreneurs in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Under the terms of the Loan Agreement, the EBRD will provide the Bank with financing for a total of up to 5 million US dollars. The funds will be provided as a US dollar loan or a synthetic loan in UZS and will consist of two tranches.
Within this cooperation, special attention is given to expanding economic opportunities in the regions. At least 75% of the loan proceeds will be allocated to finance projects implemented in regions outside the city of Tashkent.
A distinct priority of the program is the development of women's entrepreneurship: 30% of the credit line (1.5 million US dollars) will be directed to financing projects led by female entrepreneurs.
Securing this new financing will allow JSCB "Universalbank" to expand its credit support for small businesses and private entrepreneurs, thereby promoting job creation, increasing competitiveness, and fostering the sustainable development of regional economies.
JSCB "Universalbank" will continue its active cooperation with the EBRD to ensure entrepreneurs have access to financial resources and to implement best international practices in the banking sector.
