JSCB “Universal bank” Receives First Tranche Under USD 5 Million EBRD Credit Line
On December 10, 2025, a loan agreement for 5 million US dollars was signed between JSCB "Universal bank" and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, aimed at supporting and developing small and medium-sized businesses in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On April 27, 2026, the Bank received the first tranche of 2.5 million US dollars under this credit facility. The funds raised will be used to finance small and medium-sized business entities, with 30% of the total facility amount earmarked for supporting and developing women's entrepreneurship. This new financing will allow JSCB "Universal bank" to expand its credit support for small businesses and private entrepreneurs, thereby contributing to job creation, increased competitiveness, and the sustainable economic development of the regions.
JSCB "Universal bank" will continue its active cooperation with the EBRD to ensure entrepreneurs have access to financial resources and to implement international best practices in the banking sector.
